“From the Athletic Trainer” is a new feature from Kelley Crowe, MSEd, ATC, CSCS, head athletic trainer at Arundel High School. Crowe will post articles throughout the year with topics including tips to reduce injuries, the importance of hydration and other news relating to high school sports medicine.
Kelley Crowe, MSEd, ATC, CSCS
A native of Worcester Massachusetts, Crowe received her Bachelors degree in athletic training from Boston University and her Masters in athletic training from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. In addition to athletic training, Crowe is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a focus primarily in injury prevention.
She also has involvement in athletic training at the state and district level. Crowe is currently the PR chair for the Maryland Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Member at Large for the Young Professional Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association.
As part of the MedStar Health team, Crowe is at Arundel to take care of all student-athletes by evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries.
She also serves as a point of contact for the diverse team of health care professionals at MedStar including sports medicine physicians, surgeons, and physical therapists. Along with her responsibilities at Arundel, Crowe works as a physician extender for a sports medicine physician at MedStar Orthopedics at the Waugh Chapel location in Gambrills.
