Wildcats News · Walking for Gos!

Coach Yuscavage and a group of the Arundel ALC went for the 1-mile walk today for Coach Gos!

Coach Gosnell coached lacrosse at Arundel High for 31 years, leading the program to 296 victories and the Class 4A-3A state championship in 1995. The Wildcats captured what was known as the state/regional championship in 1980, 1981, and 1988 prior to when the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association began holding an official state tournament for boys lacrosse. Gosnell, who also coached varsity field hockey at Arundel for 12 years, was inducted into the Maryland State Lacrosse Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame in 2012. He received the Bilderback Award for outstanding contributions to Anne Arundel County lacrosse in 2007.

Not many people knew that Gosnell was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in the late 1980s as he lived with the rare lung disease without complaint.

Student-Athletes in the Athletic Leadership Council (ALC) at Arundel High School are raising funds and awareness in Coach Gosnell’s honor. Our fundraising page can be found here: https://runsignup.com/teamclintgosnell?remMeAttempt=

Join Coach Schrader, Coach Woods, Mr. Ryan and more of the ALC when they run a socially distanced 5K on the Arundel Campus! More details to come!
