Wildcats News · Varsity Wrestling competes at Regional Duals, falls short

In their first Regional Duals action since 2005, the Arundel wrestling team traveled to take on #1 seed South River on Wednesday night.  Having already lost to South River in the regular season dual by more than 30 points in early December, the Wildcats made a match of it this time around winning 7 of the 14 matches wrestled.  However, still coming up on the short end of team points, losing 31-21.

Diego Steiner (106) continues to improve his wrestling winning by decision.

Caleb Chaves (132) avenges his early season loss to a highly ranked opponent, also winning by decision 10-5.

Josh Chang (145) may have wrestled his best match of the year getting a decision win over a solid opponent.

Jaydon Bowden (152) continues his winning ways earning a 3-2 decision.

Valentino Pryor (170) gets a big win over a ranked opponent, 6-4.

Amir Conwell (220) went to overtime for his victory, 5-3.

Nate Kloss (285) come out on top again, this time by a 3-1 decision.

Congrats to all the wrestlers for earning themselves the opportunity to compete in this highly deserved post-season affair!

The Wildcat wrestlers will turn their focus to next weekend’s county championship as they should be in the running for a team title.  Catch them in action at Annapolis HS on Friday, 2/21 starting at 4 pm and then again on Saturday, 2/22 starting at 9:30 am running to conclusion of the finals.
