Wildcats News · Arundel Field Hockey Continues to Serve

Arundel Field Hockey has been busy on and off the field preparing for a successful season.  Off the field, the Lady Wildcats have found time to volunteer and fundraise for a few important organizations.

On August 30th the Junior Varsity team volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore.  The team provided several activities and games for the children residing at the Ronald McDonald House for activity hour.  This was something that started last season and that the team continues to carry on throughout this school year.

On September 1st, both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams paired up with Kent Island High School and collected items for Kent Island’s Book Bag and Clothing Drive for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.  Both the field hockey family and community donated back to school items and clothing that will be shipped to Texas to help those in need.  The team will continue to work with Kent Island to collect additional items and have them shipped to Texas in the coming weeks.

Lastly, the Varsity team members wanted to provide assistance to the animals that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.  On September 1st, several members of the team got together and made blankets for the animals.  In addition, both the junior varsity and varsity teams collected needed items for the Pets Alive Shelter at their season opener.  The items collected will be shipped later this week to Austin, TX to help those animals in need.

The Arundel Field Hockey team exemplifies the meaning of an Arundel Wildcat!  Hats off to our ladies for all they do in the classroom, on the field and in the community.
